Gemcorp Group Company CEO, Atanas Bostandjiev held discussion with Foreign Affairs State Minister Aklilu Hailemicheal on investment in Ethiopia. After the discussion, the CEO told ENA that the two officials had fruitful discussion in exploring areas of investment in the country and supporting the local agricultural sector. “We very much look forward to starting a successful operation here in Ethiopia,” he added. Gemcorp Group specializes in agriculture and pharmaceutical sectors as it has rich experience in both sectors in the African continent, Bostandjiev said. He stated that the company is interested to invest in Ethiopia as the country is registering fast and sustainable economic growth over the past years. Business Diplomacy Director-General at the ministry, Zelalem Birhanu said the delegation was offered with investment incentives and the abundant opportunities in Ethiopia. The company will conduct feasibility study and visit industrial parks to decide the amount and timeline of the business they will engage into. According to Zelalem, they have also discussed ways of supporting farmers through finance and facilitating export market and helping them to export their products by adding value. Gemcorp Capital LLP primarily invests in the financial services, natural resources, infrastructure, and sovereign sectors. It typically invests in emerging economies with focus on Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Emerging Asia, and Latin America.
